How I keep my color-treated hair healthy :)

Before I go into the products that I use, I want to give you a short little background about my hair so that you know why I chose to use the products that I use. My natural hair is jet black, straight, thick, and coarse. I've always been jealous of girls with brown hair so I decided to dye it. I've been dying my since I was 17 years old and back then I didn't know much about dying hair, it wasn't until recently til I learned the do's and don'ts. My hair has been through hell for the past 4 years from all the bleach, dying, and heat products but for the past two years, my hair has finally came back to life! After all the research and trying out different products, I found that these products worked best with my hair :)

(I'm on the right!)

What I do! :)
- I usually wash my hair every 2-3 days
- I use a hair mask once a week and let it soak for 10-15 minutes
- I only straighten/curl my hair once a week
- I NEVER blow dry my hair
- I always put moroccan oil on my hair after I shower
- I try to get my hair trimmed every 2 months
- I dye my roots every 3-4 months using Ion Color Brilliance & 20 developer
- I only use wide tooth combs to brush my hair

  • Nexxus Color Assure Replenishing Color Care Shampoo
  • One N Only Argan Oil Restorative Mask
  • Organixx Extra Strength Moroccan Argan Oil
  • Garnier Fructis Color Shield

This is my HG product :) I rave about moroccan oil  all the time because it seriously brought my hair back to life. I started using moroccan oil about 2 years ago & and since then it made my hair so smooth and healthy. I've used a couple of other brands but I found this one to be my favorite! With this product, I've noticed less split ends and silkier hair. What I love most about it is that it doesn't make your hair greasy! I have oily hair and it doesn't even feel like you're wearing anything! Plus, it smells really good :)
